5% of children are healthy, protective and living in a conducive home environment with their economically stable families in the Kegalle and Trincomalee districts by end of 2025 year. 

  1. Enhanced 20 Community leaders as “Barefoot Nutritionist" to disseminate good practices, knowledge, change attitude towards the improvement of health, well-being and economic stability of 600 families in two DSDs. 

  2. Improved living standards with essential basics of improved health among the families with inclusion (including women headed families, pregnant mothers, differently able persons) 

  3. Established strong collaboration and inter-sectoral relationships to enhance the impact on improving nutrition and food security among vulnerable children and their families in the two districts. 

  4. Developed a comprehensive Program Proposal in alignment with the National Nutritional Policy of Sri Lanka (2021-2030) to address the nutritional and food security challenges faced by vulnerable families with children.

Children-centric holistic approach in the Districts of Trincomalee and Kegalle through Multi-sectoral Approaches to Nutrition and Food security’ was funded by Street Child Sri Lanka and directed by SLCDF to ensure that 5% of the children in 600 target families are healthy, protective and living in a conducive home environment. The project involved training 20 “Barefoot Nutritionists” to provide knowledge on health, wellbeing and economic stability. The project will span 14 months
